There are some things companies or athletes will do that will just leave fans scratching their heads and searching for the right words to say. This is one of those times.
Now we all know how athletes auction off used or worn stuff from gloves, uniforms, helmets, cleats/shoes and so on and so on. But I don’t really recall hearing about players auctioning off hairballs from their beards.
Gillette posted on Twitter that the auction for hairballs from World Series Champions David Ortiz and Shane Victorino were underway about five hours ago. I’m curious to see how much they go for.
I know it’s for Movember, whatever that is but it’s a little disturbing. You would think a better idea for an auction would be a one on one day with the player of your choice or possibly both of them. That would have easily raised more money but if it’s facial hair that people want, then so be it.
Just when you thought things couldn’t get any weirder.
