This past weekend, Australian promotion FightWorld Cup hosted their 16the event by crowning two new champions.
In the main event, Kyra Purcell took Jessy Rose “Jessy Jess” Clark to the distance and earned the decision win become the FightWorld Cup Women’s Bantamweight champion.
Prior to Purcell’s title victory, Claire Fryer scored a first-round TKO over Melanie Malone to become the FightWorld Cup Women’s Strawweight champion.
Although Purcell only has three professional bouts, 2-1, she could be on her way to Invicta Fighting Championships or the UFC, if she can string up a few more victories.
Fryer is is currently 4-1 in her MMA career and she could also be bound for Invicta in the near future. The promotion signed Australian strawweight star Bec Hyatt when she was 4-1 in her career. With the UFC establishing a strawweight division, Fryer could also be octagon bound in the future, especially with the organization recently signing European fighters to their women’s bantamweight division.
