Am I the only one who is fascinated by pitchers with side arm or submarine deliveries?
I tried to do it a few times and it didn’t work out as well, but that’s just me. Anyways, with the off-season’s picking up a full head of steam, teams are scrambling to make big moves and free agent signings.
The Cardinals are interested in shortstop Erick Aybar (click here) but they didn’t want to have to give up any young pitchers to acquire him.
Now reliever Joe Smith isn’t necessarily young, but he could be a solid pick up for the Angels if they happened to sign him. During the 2013 season with the Cleveland Indians, Smith finished the year with a 6-2 record while posting a 2.29 ERA and a 1.22 WHIP over 70 innings of relief.
They could lock him up for at least three or four years with an option.
