The Indiana Pacers may have the best record in the Eastern Conference (and tied for best overall with the San Antonio Spurs), but that doesn’t mean they’re the best team in the league, at least, not according to Miami Heat point guard Mario Chalmers.
Chalmers, who is coming off two consecutive NBA Championships with the Miami Heat isn’t apparently thrilled with the Pacers getting so much of the recent spotlight and suggested the Pacers still have to face the Heat if they want bragging rights:
“Nope,” Mario Chalmers said. “They still got to see us. At the end of the day, they still got to come play us.”
In fairness to the former Kansas product, Chalmers didn’t really take any shots at the Pacers and even as went as far as to give them props on their fantastic start. Still, it was clear he was attempting to mark his territory.
The Pacers and Heat will have their first matchup of the regular season on December 18th, in Miami.
