The Miami Dolphins were down a lot of offensive lineman last week. Guard Richie Incognito is suspended, tackle Jonathan Martin is away from the team while the NFL investigation is ongoing and center Mike Pouncey was out with an illness.

Since Pouncey and Incognito were out, the two got together to watch the Dolphins game against the Chargers on Sunday at Poucney’s home. Pouncey said that Incognito is missing his time with the Dolphins.

“He’s doing really good,” Pouncey said of Incognito, via the Miami Herald. “He’s in good spirits. He wants to get back to this football team, get back and play football. Richie Incognito’s a football player, and that’s the only thing he knows. He’s missing it to death.”

Pouncey also joked that it had been a hard year between the locker room scandal and his illness.

“If I make it through 2013 without having a heart attack, I’ll be good,” Pouncey said. “Seriously, it’s been a rough one.”

The one bright spot for Pouncey? He says he is pleased with how he has played.

“I think I’ve been playing really great football. I’ve actually used it as a chip on my shoulder so I can go and play in games. It’s part of the reason I’ve played so well.”
