UFC President Dana White will be temporarily shifting his focus from mixed martial arts back to boxing.

According to a report from MMAFighting.com, White will team up with Craig Piligian, executive producer of “The Ultimate Fighter” to produce “The Fighters.” After looking at the trailer, it appears the show will centered around the boxing scene in Boston and some of the struggles the sport has gone through in the last several years.

White, who will be an executive producer along with Piligian, told MMAFighting.com that the show will debut on the Discovery Channel in the future.

Although he has never been shy in his comments about boxing or its most prominent figures, White has a history with the Sweet Science. He was a former trainer and manager. He also was a fan of the sport and used to watch “Friday Night Fights” while he was growing up.

I think the show could be successful, especially with White and Piligian as producers. It is hard to say whether or not “The Fighters” will be a success, but I’m sure that is what some people said when “The Ultimate Fighter” first premiered in 2005.
