There wasn’t really ever a chance for Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers to play in Week 12, despite rumors leaking on the internet suggesting otherwise.

Those ideas were quickly squashed when the Packers ruled Rodgers out for Week 12 and according to head coach Mike McCarthy, there is no timetable for Rodgers’ return – at least not currently:

"McCarthy on Rodgers: I don’t have a timetable for you."

Unfortunately for Green Bay, they are playing on Thanksgiving which only gives Rodgers and the Packers a few days between their Week 12 and Week 13 games and considering Rodgers isn’t ready yet, it’s looking more and more doubtful he’ll be ready for the Packers contest against the Lions.

Rodgers reportedly can throw and run without any issue, though, doctors have suggested the signal caller could suffer a more damaging injury if he returns before his broken collarbone fully heals.

Scott Tolzien will continue to start in Rodgers place until the former MVP is ready to return, which may not be until Week 14.
