Vince Carter made some headlines this week after he called Dwight Howard a ‘crybaby’ for complaining about a bad call. Carter diffused the situation on Friday, saying that people blew the whole thing out of proportion. (What?! People who cover sports sometimes ignore context and create mountains out of molehills? Color me shocked!)
From The Dallas Morning News:
Everybody is blowing it out of proportion. First of all, we were just playing around joking. It was a joke because he said it to me first. And we were complaining about his 3 seconds (in the lane). He was saying, stop crying. And I said, you’re the biggest crybaby.
Personally, I’ve never understood the whole “crybaby” insult. Isn’t the “cry” part a bit redundant? All babies cry, so why not just call someone a baby? Let’s add some originality to our insults here, people. We need to put some thought into our mean remarks. That’s clearly the lesson we should take away from this situation.
