Wyoming Cowboys safety Chad Reese leaves football team

Wyoming Cowboys safety Chad Reese announced this week that he’ll be leaving the football team. Reese cited “personal reasons” as the driving force behind his departure, but he didn’t elaborate further.

Reese took to Twitter on Thursday morning to voice gratitude towards the Wyoming program and coaching staff:

I’m very thankful to the coaches that have helped me along this journey. First off, I would like to thank God for the opportunity to attend the Univ. of Wyoming. I also would like to say I’m very proud to have played with a great group of young men and even better friends. I also want to thank my coaches for allowing me to grow and aiding in my maturation process. I wish my teammates and brothers the best of luck this weekend and in the future (CBS Sports).

Reese had 39 tackles in seven games this season. We wish him the best as he moves forward.
