Yuta “The Smiling Spinner” Kubo is returning to the Glory ring in his native country of Japan.
Kubo will face Moroacan-Dutch fighter Mosab “Jaguar” Amrani at Glory 13, which takes place in Tokyo, Dec. 21.
The Smiling Spinner is coming off of a decision loss to Masaaki Noiri back in September. Kubo not only lost the match, but also his Krush 67kg Championship. Prior to the loss, Kubo was on an 18-fight winning streak that included capturing the Krush Grand Prix 67 kg Tournament and K-1 WORLD MAX 2011 -63kg Japan Tournament titles.
Amrani could be the opponent to help Kubo get back on the winning track. The Jaguar has gone 3-3 in his last six fights that includes a loss to Noiri back in May. That said, Amrani will no doubt look start his own path to victory.
If Kubo can defeat Amrani, he could make another run for the Krush 67kg title in the future or find himself competing in a future Glory tournament.
