We all wanted to know, even after the Oklahoma victory, what would happen when the Baylor Bears played a “real” team. You know, one that was going to punch them in the mouth and not let them create an aerial onslaught.
Well, we found out tonight when the Bears made a trip to Stillwater, OK to take on the 10th-ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys and it has not been pretty. The Cowboys currently hold a 42-10 lead, and have ruined any chance the Bears had of making it to the national championship game.
Their last touchdown was just a dagger to the heart of Baylor.
With just under ten minutes left in the game, Baylor was driving, down 35-10. Bryce Petty had an errant snap get away from him out of the shotgun. The ball was then picked up by Oklahoma State’s Tyler Patmon and returned 78 yards to the house for the backbreaker:
And there go Baylor’s hopes, 78 yards down the field, in the hands of Patmon.
That’s pretty much how this night has gone for Baylor.
