Another Middleweight clash has been set for UFC Fight Night 35 in Georgia on January 15th. TUF alum, Brad Tavares, will face off against savvy striker, Lorenz Larkin. UFC News broke the fight on twitter:

Larkin is fresh off a victory over another TUF alum, Chris Camozzi, back at UFC Fight For the Troops 3 earlier this month. A former Strikeforce product, Larkin is 1-1 in the UFC thus far. His loss came at the hands of Francis Carmont in a highly debatable decision. Larkin will look to continue his way up the ladder against Tavares come January.
Brad Tavares has been a shockingly successful fighter since his stint of The Ultimate Fighter 11. He is 6-1 in his UFC career and is currently on a 4 fight winning streak. Tavares has only 1 finish, however, during his stint in the UFC. At UFC 125, Tavares TKO’ed Phil Baroni in a first round onslaught.
The winner of this fight will certainly get a big step up in competition in the Middleweight division. There is a lot of opportunity for both men in the very near future.
Here is how the UFC Fight Night 35 card is shaping up:
- Luke Rockhold vs Costa Philippou
- Lorenz Larkin vs Brad Tavares
- TJ Dillashaw vs Mike Easton
- Sam Sicilia vs Cole Miller
- Ovince St. Preux vs TBD
