Byron Marshall injured for Oregon, may not return against Arizona

It appears that Oregon Ducks running back Byron Marshall will not return to today’s game against the Arizona Wildcats. Marshall left early in the first quarter with what looked like an ankle injury. He had the ankle taped on the sideline but still appeared to be in pain and has yet to return to the field.

The loss of Marshall, who has rushed for 991 yards and 14 touchdowns this season, would be a big one for the Ducks. The powerful running style he brings to the Oregon backfield provides a good contrast to the sheer speed of De’Anthony Thomas and stud freshman Thomas Tyner (the latter of whom has already lost a fumble in the game).

The Arizona Wildcats, only 6-4 on the season, have come out and hit the 9-1 Oregon Ducks in the mouth. At the midway point through the second quarter, Arizona quarterback B.J. Denker has already thrown for a pair of touchdowns. He’s also added 44 rushing yards on the ground to compliment running back Ka’Deem Carey.

We’ll be updating you with news throughout the game, so stay tuned.
