Nicholls State at Memphis: live stream, start time, preview and more

After beginning the year 1-0 by defeating Austin Peay, the 11th-ranked Memphis Tigers ran into the buzzsaw that is Marcus Smart and the Oklahoma State Cowboys.

Saturday, the Tigers look to rebound when they welcome in the 0-3 Nicholls State Colonels.

That loss to Oklahoma State was definitely a wake-up call for the Tigers and head coach Josh Pastner. As expected, he was in no way pleased with the way his team performed against Oklahoma State, especially his top scorers, Joe Jackson, Chris Crawford, Geron Johnson and Mizzou transfer, Michael Dixon Jr.:

“If they play like (Tuesday) then it’s going to be a different deal, but I just didn’t see those guys playing like that. I could see one guy to play poor, but not all four.”

Those four were uncharacteristically bad on Tuesday night against the Cowboys. Collectively, they only totaled 21 points on 8-of-34 shooting.

It’s not likely that something like that will happen many times this season, but the trick is only having it happen against a below-average opponent and not the seventh-ranked team in the country.

Nicholls State may be in for a long night, courtesy of this angry Tigers team.

Date: Nov. 23

Start Time: 6pm ET

Location: Memphis, TN

Arena: FedEx Forum

Live Stream: ESPN3

Great rebound from playing so poorly with OSU. Looks like Austin Nichols and Nick King are having a “coming out” game the last couple of games. I hope the rest of the Freshmen can do the same. Geron and Shaq seem to be lacking at point production, and we need them during the games against the Top 20 teams. But, overall, we are looking pretty good early in the season.
