The Virginia Cavaliers are not making things easy for the Miami Hurricanes as they try to break their losing skid with a win at home on Senior Day.
So far, the low-level Cavaliers are hanging with the former Top-10 Hurricanes in the early going in this one, as the Miami lead is just 14-10 at the moment.
If there is anything in this game that Miami needs to exploit, it’s their superior athleticism as opposed to Virginia. While these might not be the same Miami athletes we saw in the 80s, they’re still a level above the Hoos.
That showed on this Stephen Morris to Stacy Coley touchdown in the first half.
Morris dropped back and swung the ball out to Coley, who weaved his way through the Virginia defense for a 62-yard score:
Those are the type of plays that are going to give Miami the edge in this one. However, the defense needs to get the memo about being superior as they’re letting this Virginia team hang around after one quarter.
