As a second round pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, the Golden State Warriors were just hopeful that Draymond Green would eventually carve out some minutes in their rotation. But Green quickly emerged on the scene as a viable bench option who stepped up during the Warriors’ playoff run.

The former Michigan State Spartan had a lot of question marks coming out of college, question marks that ESPN’s Bill Simmons had no problem addressing. But when Green played well in the national spotlight, Simmons apparently changed his tune which didn’t sit well with Green, who called the scribe a ‘clown’ on social media Friday evening:

Is @billsimmons the guy who said l can’t shoot? Then in the playoffs was tweeting a lot of love?Clown probably never touched a basketball lol

In fairness to Simmons, at least statistically he was correct as Green was pretty woeful from the floor during the regular season. Green hit another level in the postseason and deserved the praise bestowed upon him, but I’m not exactly sure Simmons was incorrect suggesting Green couldn’t shoot last season.
