Denver led New England 24-0 headed into the locker room at halftime.

The Patriots out of it?  Not quite.

New England scored 31 unanswered points – 21 in the third quarter, 10 in the fourth – to take a 31-24 lead with 7:41 remaining in regulation.

Tom Brady threw for three touchdowns during that span, including a 5-yard strike to Julian Edelman, a 6-yard TD to Rob Gronkowski, and another to Edleman – this time for 14 yards.

Peyton Manning and the Broncos found some life and came right back to tie it at 31-31 after an 11-yard Peyton Manning pass to Demaryius Thomas.

Appropriately the battle between surefire Hall of Famers Manning and Brady comes down to the final minutes and a last-second drive to determine the outcome.

Manning has gone 17-of-28 for 134 yards with two touchdowns and an interception.  Brady has gone 30-of-42 for 308 yards with three touchdowns and no picks.

Broncos’ running back Knowshon Moreno leads all rushers with 30 carries for 170 yards and a touchdown.

New England sits at 7-3 on the season and 2.5 games up in the AFC East.  Denver sits at 9-1 overall and just a half game up on the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC West.
