Oklahoma State stomps Baylor's BCS dreams in 49-17 romp

The Baylor Bears were all set up for a BCS berth, but Oklahoma State stomped all over those dreams for the kids from Waco, TX.

Everybody thought the Cowboys would have to out-offense the Bears, but it proved to be the Pokes’ defense that showed up with something to prove and did the job. The Bears’ previous season low had been 35 points against Kansas State, but this game proved that they could be stopped.

The game was over when the Bears gave up a 78 yard fumble return off of horrible rolling snap went between the legs of Bryce Petty. Baylor was on the 2 and down 35-10 with about 10:00 left at the time.

Oklahoma State didn’t win the game there though, they won it in the first half, scoring five touchdowns and taking a 35-3 lead into halftime. The Cowboys pulled out all the stops to win this one, throwing in a beautiful double pass back to Chelf for 47 yards to set up their 28-3 touchdown.

Oklahoma State goes to 10-1, 7-1 Big 12 while Baylor falls to 9-1, 6-1 Big 12. The Cowboys will try and wrap up the Big 12 with a win against Oklahoma in two weeks. Baylor gets to take on TCU next week and then Texas to end their season. If Oklahoma beats OSU, the Bears still have a shot at being conference champions, but after watching the Pokes tonight, that doesn’t look likely.
