The New York Giants did a lot of trash talking in the week leading up a big match up against the Dallas Cowboys. Both teams needed the win, and the Cowboys needed it if they were going to finish the season strong. The game was a physical contest and the Cowboys won on a field goal as time expired.

“You can’t get much more out of a win than you’re going to get out of this one,” Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones said, via the Dallas Morning News.

“We didn’t need the Giants to beat us in here tonight,” Jones said. “They were the favorites and our franchise, our year, didn’t need this. I think everybody sensed it but certainly … it would have been sad times over these next coming weeks had we not won this game tonight.”

Cowboys defensive tackle Jason Hatcher was pleased with the win as well. More importantly, he was pleased to get the win and rubbing the Giants trash talking in their face.

“I’m very emotional, man,” Hatcher said, via the Dallas Morning News. “We just got disrespected. We didn’t talk all week. We let them do all the talking. Revenge is best served cold. It was cold out there tonight the way we did it. We came out there and we took it.

“We got class. I’m not showing a lot of class right now. But the damage is done.”
