If you had to use one word to describe Kevin Garnett, ‘intense’ would be a good choice. And that’s why the marketing agency behind Garnett’s new Beats by Dre commercial likely opted to use Garnett’s famed personality trait as the backing for their new product launch.
The headphone line, with the assistance of the Brooklyn Nets forward put together a mini-movie (nearly three minutes in length) that features Garnett rocking the new Beats Studio cans, which allow him to ‘block out his haters’. Clearly a tough life.
The spot begins with KG watching everybody’s favorite trash-talking analyst Skip Bayless and morphs into the typical things Garnett would deal with on a game day, including irritating and verbally abusive fans. KG is followed from his home to the team bus to the arena, where he can block out distractions thanks to the noise canceling feature of the popular headphones.
Unfortunately, the multi-time NBA All-star couldn’t block out the Nets’ ugly 3-10 record, good for third worst in the league.
