The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed left wing Jared Boll on the injured reserve list, which will be retroactive to November 22. He sustained a bruised foot, and because of his transfer to the IR, Columbus has added Sean Collins to the lineup from the AHL Springfield team.
According to the Associated Press (article found on ESPN),
Boll, the longest serving current Blue Jacket, is eligible to return on Nov. 30.
Boll has a goal and 38 penalty minutes in 21 games this season. He has 25 goals and 28 assists in 409 career NHL games, all with the Blue Jackets. He ranks fourth in games played in franchise history and is second in penalty minutes with 1,001 — just 25 minutes behind leader Jody Shelley.
Collins has an assist in five games with the Blue Jackets this season.
The Blue Jackets are currently looking at a record of 9-12-3, good enough for 7th in the Metropolitan Division. Up next for Columbus are the Nashville Predators, who will come to Ohio on Wednesday.
Boll’s loss won’t be as significant as some may think, but his presence will obviously missed for the next four days. The short term IR isn’t so bad, and he should be back from his injury fully recovered.
