Cleveland Browns head coach Rob Chudzinski had said that the team would be looking to sign a quarterback this week after watching Jason Campbell go down with a concussion during the team’s Week 12 loss to the AFC North rival Pittsburgh Steelers.

With Campbell recovering from the concussion and set to go through the league mandated concussion protocol before he can recover, the team is in need of signing a back up for former first-round pick Brandon Weeden.

The team brought in Caleb Hanie for a work out on Tuesday, but it looks like they went another direction with their signing.

Tanney, who has spent time with the Kansas City Chiefs and was previously on the Dallas Cowboys quarterback squad, announced on Twitter that he has signed with the Browns.

If you don’t remember who Tanney is, he is the quarterback that garnered attention as an undrafted free agent after releasing a ridiculous trick shot video.

As long as one of his tricks includes throwing the ball within 5 seconds, I am on board. Perhaps he could show Weeden how to accomplish that feat.

The Browns don’t need a trick shot guy. They need a quarterback.

Hey, I worked 27 yrs. as an underground coal miner and can throw the ball as least 30 yards!!! Love to be the Browns Quarterback.

      • Greg

He, he. Weeden is lucky to throw for 30 yards a entire game
And we are stuck with him this week against a team we should beat.
But, probably won’t. Because of this quarterback impersonator

I Believe we need to trade these two high school quarterbacks; Weeden and Campbell–for ten good laying hens. I’m 61 yrs. old and have never seen any worse. Please start anyone Sunday. LIFE-TIME BROWNS FAN MAYDOG
