No decision date set for Texas A&M’s Johnny Manziel

Texas A&M Aggies’ quarterback Johnny Manziel was reportedly going to decide about whether or not he was going to declare for the 2014 NFL draft before the Aggies’ bowl game. After a loss to the LSU Tigers dropped the Aggies to 8-3, their bowl game will likely take place on December 31 or January 1.

Aggies’ head coach Kevin Sumlin joined Scott Van Pelt and Ryen Russillo on ESPN radio last week, telling them “we’ll have that discussion after the Missouri game, certainly during the bowl preparation” and that he was “sure the announcement will be made at that time.”

However, according to Sumlin, no decision date has been set.

“We’ll have an analysis by the NFL, I’ll talk to some different people, and what I try to do is give our guys as much factual information that I can gather from the NFL specifically instead of what’s being said on television or on blogs and things like that,” Sumlin said. “That’s my job as a coach: To give them as much information as I can so they can make the best decision for them and their family.”

The Aggies will wrap up the season Saturday night when they travel to Missouri to take on the fifth-ranked Tigers. Kickoff is set for 7:45 pm EST and the game is on ESPN.
