Michael Buteau of Bloomberg.com reports Augusta National Golf Club has purchased an $8.3 million apartment complex for “parking and undisclosed support services” during the Masters Tournament.  Most of the apartment complex has already been demolished to make way for the site’s intended use.  Buteau speculates the site may be used for “lodging or corporate entertainment facilities” in the future.

The Masters Tournament is one of golf’s four major championships, and takes place in April at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia.  A major debate within the golfing world is always, what is the best major to win?  There is no clear majority favoring the Masters, U.S. Open, British Open, or PGA Championship, but the Masters may garner the highest percentage of votes.  It is an iconic tournament played on an iconic golf course.  Being known as a Masters Champion is one of the greatest achievements a golfer can aspire to.
