The next UFC title fight is set to take place with a match up between champion Jon Jones and No. 1 contender Glover Teixeira inside of the octagon, so it was only natural for reporters to discuss the future bout with a man who was familiar with both of the title fight participants — Quinton “Rampage” Jackson.
When Rampage was giving his thoughts on the match up, he made it clear that he was rooting for Teixeira to take home the win and he also had some not-so-flattering words for the champ.
From an interview with Fighter’s Only Magazine:
“I think Glover is gonna win. I’m supporting him and I’m betting on him. Jon Jones is an excellent fighter but he doesn’t always put on a show for the fans so they aren‘t always happy with him,” he says.
“He is a great athlete. He is also one of the dirtiest opponents I have fought. If I could, I would break his knee for him so doesn’t fight ever again.”
The Jones vs. Teixeira match up has been previously scheduled for two dates, but neither worked out, so we are left waiting for an official date and time for the two men to meet.
It will be interesting to see if Rampage’s prediction comes true when Teixeira and Jones finally face off.
