Carmelo Anthony says New York Knicks don’t play defense

Another day, another quote from Carmelo Anthony. The former Syracuse Orangeman has been bashing the play of himself (and his teammates, more or less) on a near daily basis as the Knicks have fallen to the bottom of the Atlantic Division.

An end to the disaster doesn’t appear to be in sight and Melo has suggested that the monkey on the Knicks back is quickly turning into a gorilla. He also had some choice words about the Knicks’ defense, blatantly saying they don’t play any:

“It’s just defense at this point,” Anthony said. “We’re not guarding nobody. The easiest thing to do, I always say this, is try to point fingers and try to figure out what’s going on . . . ball movement. At the end of the day it’s the defense. We’re not guarding anybody. We have to figure that part out.”

It seems to be a bit more than just defense resulting in the poor play, but it’s certainly a good place to start if the Knicks want to turn things around.
