The Kansas City Chiefs had starting outside linebackers Justin Houston and Tamba Hali suffer injuries during last week’s loss to the San Diego Chargers and the timetable for their returns was not immediately known.

Kansas City was most worried about Houston, who suffered a sublexed elbow during the Week 12 match up, but now the team knows when they can expect him back.

According to reports, Houston will miss around two to three weeks. The good news is that he will be able to avoid surgery.

From Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports:

A sublexed elbow is when your elbow pops in and out of socket, so it isn’t entirely surprising to learn there is ligament and tissue damage in the injured joint.

Losing Houston will be a big blow to the Chiefs defense, especially this weekend against the division rival Denver Broncos, but there is still a chance that they will be able to take the field with Hali in the starting line up.
