Shady’s back…back again. That’s right, ladies and gentleman, Eminem is most definitely back. Eminem’s newest release ‘Marshall Mathers LP2’ is back on top of the Billboard 200 this week, selling well over a million copies in its first three weeks of release.
Now, we have the release of his newest music video for his single ‘Rap God’. The video, which hit YouTube and Vevo today, shows Eminem as a very Max Headroom-esque character. For those of you who did not live through the 80’s, Max Headroom was a character that had his own television series as well as sold products like Coca-Cola to the masses. Still don’t know who Max Headroom is. Check this out.
In the explosive new video, Eminem mixes cutting edge technology with references to the past, even recreating some of those famous battle scenes from 8 Mile.
There is no question that the lyrics to ‘Rap God’ have stirred up some controversy. Earlier this year, some people were incredibly upset with the rapper for using words that could be construed as homophobic and detrimental against the homosexual community.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Eminem explained that those words are not something that he associates with homosexuality, and has absolutely no issues with gays, straight, or transgenders at all.
However, I have a feeling that the release of the music video is going to get that conversation going all over again.
Well, you’ve waited long enough, so here it is…the video to Eminem’s newest single ‘Rap God’.
**WARNING** this is the explicit version of the video. If you are offended by foul language, at work, or in the presence of children, now may not be the opportune time to view the video. Otherwise, enjoy.
