It appears Rajon Rondo could be returning to the Boston Celtics in just a few weeks as it’s being reported that the point guard will meet with famed orthopedic surgeon, Dr. James Andrews in the coming days.
According to a source, the Celtics point guard will also meet with his knee surgeon, Dr. James Andrews, somewhere between Dec. 7-10 in Pensacola, Fla. Rondo still needs clearance to take part in full practices.
General manager Danny Ainge has said he expects Rondo to return to action about ‘a week or two’ after he is medically cleared by a doctor for contact. That would put Rondo’s potential return for mid-December assuming all goes well and there are no setbacks suffered.
Rondo has been practicing in recent weeks, elevating his activity level in anticipation of returning to the court.
The former Kentucky Wildcat was seen in a video Tuesday racing teammate MarShon Brooks in a full-court foot race, which Rondo easily won.
He’s sure to be worked in slowly, but it appears a return is coming in the relatively near future.
