The St. Louis Rams have already placed their starting quarterback Sam Bradford on the injured reserve list after suffering a torn ACL earlier this season. Their quarterback depth took another hit last weekend with the news that back up quarterback Brady Quinn had been placed on the IR with an injured hip.

Now, it looks like Quinn is taking his time off to fix other issues, with the news that he underwent microscopic back surgery by Dr. Robert Watkins this week.

From Adam Schefter of ESPN:

The surgery that Quinn underwent on his back is the same surgery that New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski had over the summer.

Looking at Gronkowski’s return, there is little doubt that Quinn will be fully recovered and ready to rejoin the team in time for training camps next season.
