It has been ancounced that UNLV and the head coach of their football team, Bobby Hauck, have agreed to a three year contract that will keep him with the school through 2016. According to an article from the Associated Press, found on ESPN,
The terms of the deal, which was announced Wednesday, weren’t immediately released. The contract still must be approved by the Nevada Board of Regents.
The Rebels (6-5) are bowl eligible this season for the first time since 2000.
The season wraps up Saturday when UNLV hosts San Diego State at Sam Boyd Stadium. If the Rebels win, it will be only the third time the team has racked up seven wins in nearly three decades.
Hauck is 12-37 in his fourth season with UNLV, and is 92-54 overall as a head coach.
As mentioned in the article, the Rebels is on the verge of winning their seventh game this season, which doesn’t exactly happen often for them. They are currently 6-5 in the MWC – West division, good enough for third place behind Fresno State, San Diego State, and New Mexico State, who they are tied with in the conference standings.
