Due a sprained knee suffered in practice on Tuesday, Alabama Crimson Tide center Ryan Kelly is considered to be a game-time decision for the Iron Bowl this weekend.
Kelly was dressed for practice on Wednesday but didn’t fully participate. Junior Chad Lindsay took reps with the first-string while senior Kellen Williams took the second-string reps.
Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban said Kelly’s knee injury wasn’t serious. He also praised Lindsay’s performance:
Chad did great when he played. We played great in the offensive line and he did a really good job. We have every confidence in him.
Ryan has a little more experience because he’s played more, mostly this year, but Chad did a really good job for us and we have every confidence in him. It’s an opportunity for him. If Ryan can’t play, I’m sure he’ll do a good job for us (AL.com).
The Iron Bowl — which is kind of a big deal, in case you didn’t know — will be televised on CBS at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday.
