The Miami Dolphins have been working with a running back rotation throughout the first three months of the NFL season, but that is all about to change thanks to some injuries in the backfield. While Lamar Miller was getting a bulk of the carries, he will be going be seeing an even bigger spike due to Daniel Thomas being ruled out indefinitely with an ankle injury.
Miller was asked if he was excited for the opportunity to become an every down back for the Dolphins, and he wasn’t shy about saying he is looking forward to the chance.
“I’m pretty sure any running back would,” Miller said, via the Palm Beach Post.
Without Thomas to split carries, the Dolphins will now turn to Marcus Thigpen and Mike Gillislee as the back ups.
The Dolphins do have a tough schedule down the stretch with match ups against the New York Jets, Pittsburgh Steelers, New England Patriots and Buffalo Bills, so it will be interesting to see if Miller can take his game to the next level despite having a horrendous offensive line.
