In just a few moments, the Mississippi State Bulldogs will welcome in the rival Ole Miss Rebels for their annual rivalry, the first time that the game will be played on Thanksgiving night since 2003.

On a special occasion like this, you know that at least one of these teams would have to do a little uniform spicing. That team tonight is the home bulldogs.

Earlier this week, the Bulldogs introduced some gold helmets that they’ll be sporting this evening, which actually got a pretty good reaction from everyone. But, many wondered how they would look on the field.

Well, here’s a shot of the Bulldogs during pre-game warmups as the game gets ready to get kicked off in just under a half hour from now:

Personally, I like them. The gold numbers go really nice with the shine from the lids, and it also doesn’t seem like it’s too much.

But, I’m not a fashion expert. I would, however, like to know what you think about these ensembles. Sound off with your thoughts in the comments section below.

They’re ugly. State’s colors are Maroon & White. Gold is not, nor has it ever been, a Mississippi State color. These uniforms made our Bulldawgs look like the illegitimate offspring of Boston College and Notre Dame.

That being said, watching State beat umiss in them did help them to grow on me a bit.
