Since beginning the year 7-0, the Texas Tech Red Raiders haven’t exactly finished the way they had hoped. They’ve lost their last four games since their hot start, and are playing their last game of the year against the Texas Longhorns on Thursday night.
No doubt, a win over the Longhorns would be a huge boost to their confidence, not only heading into their bowl game, but heading into next season as well.
But, this is a Texas team that has proven to be one of the best in the Big 12 this season, so Texas Tech head coach Kliff Kingsbury will have to pull out all the stops in this one to get the win. ‘
Well, early on in the game, he did.
With just under 10 minutes left in the first quarter, Kingsbury called for a fake punt that caught the Longhorns completely off guard, and punter Ryan Erxleben showed off some athleticism as he took off toward the end zone:
That was a great start for Tech, as that put them up quickly, 7-0.
