‘Jurassic World’ Director Colin Trevorrow Reveals When The Film Takes Place

Right now there are not a lot of facts known about the film right now other than the release date, title, and a few cast members. As the film is still in pre-production, there is never usually a lot to go on; however, late last week Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow gave us just a little bit more in terms of information; he gave us a timeframe in which the film takes place.

When he was asked by one of his followers on Twitter if the film was indeed a reboot as many had assumed, we got a rather interesting answer.

“Reboot is a strong word.” He says. “This is a new sci-fi terror adventure set 22 years after the horrific events of Jurassic Park.

This has seemingly gone over very well with fans that were somehow under the impression that Jurassic World was set to start the whole story over again.

However, I do find it more than a little bit intriguing that he did not dismiss the tem reboot all together. This leaves me to wonder if the film will indeed be a new film all to itself; however, tie in details that either slightly alter, or re-write, or even re-involve characters from the original.

I am sure that as the film moves into the next stage of production we will start to receive other pieces of the puzzle. Until then, we will all be left to ponder the possibilities and debate the future.

Jurassic World is scheduled to be released on June 12, 2015.
