The Memphis Grizzlies were expected to be without star center Marc Gasol for four to six weeks after he suffered a sprained MCL, but it looks like the team has some reason for optimism — at least because of a recent report from the Associated Press.
According to the AP report, Gasol’s timetable for a return is really expected to be 3-4 weeks.
That means that if all goes according to plan we could see Gasol returning to the team with a couple of weeks left in December.
When you suffer a sprained MCL, you have to worry about how it will affect your mobility moving forward. Unless the injury is 100 percent, you will have some limitations, but Gasol is not an explosive athlete so that could work towards his favor in this instance.
Memphis is in a tight Western Conference, so they want to avoid falling back as much as possible.
If Gasol can return sooner rather than later, that will help them greatly.
