Well ladies and gentlemen it’s official, the San Francisco Giants and right handed pitcher Ryan Vogelsong have agree’d to a one year contract.

San Francisco is looking to get back to championship form and a big piece of their World Series victories in recent years was their pitching staff. Their rotation right now is looking pretty solid after they brought in veteran pitcher Tim Hudson to possibly lock down the number four spot in their starting five.

With the re-signing of Vogelsong, this may indicate that they will not pursue free agents Bronson Arroyo and Phil Hughes. Which could mean that the final spot in the rotation could belong to Vogelsong if he isn’t shown up by anybody else in Spring Training.

FanSided colleague Bryan Rose posted earlier that the contract that was discussed could guarantee at least $3 million. The terms of the contract haven’t officially been released, but he’ll undergo a physical next week to make the deal official.
