Triple H says there only needs to be one champion

Well it looks like we’re looking at the WWE rolling with only one heavyweight champion on the roster. Which could be a bad thing for talent trying to climb the ranks.

WWE Champion Randy Orton and World Heavyweight Champion John Cena will put both championships on the line during WWE’s final pay per view of 2013. One man will walk away as the champion while the other will surely be the number one contender for 2014′s first pay per view, the Royal Rumble.

The company did away with the Undisputed championship years ago and only had a certain amount of Superstars in the picture. Right now with John Cena back, it looks like the company may be throwing him the championship once again.

The championship was first introduced in 2002 until it was turned back into the WWE Championship in 2005. It’s had guys like Triple H, The Undertaker, Brock Lesnar, Hulk Hogan, Chris Jericho, The Rock and so on and so on carry the title. It’s a bit disappointing because the new look WWE Championship didn’t last entirely too long.

But if it’s what’s good for business, then hey, so be it.

Triple H underwent an interview on WWE’s YouTube channel.
