The Syracuse Orange were seeking for that coveted sixth win on the season today at home when they welcomed in the much-improved Boston College Eagles and the nation’s leading rusher in Andre Williams into the Carrier Dome.
Well, when it was all said, the Orange got win number six in their first year as a member of the ACC, and they got it in dramatic fashion.
Down 31-27 late in the fourth quarter, the Orange had the ball right near the goal line to get the go ahead score. With six seconds left, Syracuse completed the 75 yard drive with this touchdown pass from Terrel Hunt to Josh Parris from eight yards out to give the Orange the win:
That beautiful throwback pass gave the Orange the win and now they have the six wins needed for bowl-eligibility.
This is a huge victory for first-year head coach Scott Shafer as he tries to rebuild this Syracuse program back up to prominence.
