Broncos DE Derek Wolfe recovering from ‘seizure-like symptoms’
By Josh Sanchez
Denver Broncos defensive end Derek Wolfe did not travel with the team after being hospitalized on Friday. The team announced that Wolfe had fallen ill, but few details were immediately made available. However, now we have a better idea of how scary the situation appears to have been.
The good news is that the team says Wolfe is “alert and recovering,” but he was sent to the hospital after suffering from “seizure-like symptoms.”
The team issued a statement on Wolfe’s condition.
“He underwent extensive testing and is now being treated accordingly by doctors, who will continue to monitor his condition,” the Broncos said.
While Wolfe is doing better, he remains in the hospital.
The loss of Wolfe on the field is a big one. Wolfe has started every game for the Broncos this season and he has been a big part of the team’s defensive front since being a second-round selection in the 2012 NFL Draft.
Denver is set to take on the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday afternoon without Wolfe, but the most important thing is his health.
