Dallas Stars defenseman Stephane Robidas fell into the boards on Friday night against the Chicago Blackhawks, which resulted in a lower body injury. Robidas was immediately in obvious pain as the medical staff attended to him, but an immediate update on the injury was not available.

However, late Friday night, we received an update about Robidas’ condition and it looks like he will be out for an extended period of time.

According to Tracey Myers of CSNChicago.com, Robidas was hospitalized with a fractured leg.

It is an unfortunate injury for the 36-year-old defensemen who was already watching his role with the team decrease.

While we now know the full extent of the defense, we will need to wait and see an exact timetable for his return and just how much Robidas will be a part of the team’s plans when he is back on the ice.
