The Illinois Fighting Illini have had themselves a bit of a miserable season. There was a little more expected out of this team this year, most of which never really came to fruition.
But, that doesn’t mean that they haven’t had their moments, and that includes today.
Illinois is finishing off their regular season today at home against the struggling Northwestern Wildcats. So, there is a small chance that they can end things on a high note and hopefully take some motivation into next season.
Currently at the half, though, they’re down 20-17.
Earlier in the game, they did have one of the more incredible plays of the year.
In the second quarter, quarterback Nathan Scheelhaase let go of a throw toward the end zone that was hauled in by wide receiver Steve Hull–while he was on the ground:
Not only was that great for the fact that he was sitting on the ground, but then he actually had to adjust his body to the left to grab the ball. At this point if you’re Illinois, you take all the positives you can get.
