Last season, the Penn State Nittany Lions defeated the Wisconsin Badgers in the final game of the regular season, a Wisconsin team that went on to win the Big Ten Championship and play in the Rose Bowl.
This Wisconsin team that Penn State is playing today will not be heading off to Pasadena, but they’re still one of the hottest teams in the country. So, Penn State is out to make their second statement in two years against the Badgers who a lot of people see as better.
To make this upset possible, the Nittany Lions are going to need all the big plays they can get, and they got one from their tight end Jesse James in the third quarter.
With about eight minutes to go in the third, quarterback Christian Hackenberg lofted one toward the back of the end zone. It was a bit underthrown, but James make an incredible play to come down with the ball anyway, and give the Lions a 21-14 lead:
More of those, and Penn State will make it two in a row over the Badgers.
