The NBA warned Dallas Mavericks power forward Dirk Nowitzki about flopping earlier in the week. He jumped up for a three and a defender was in front of him and he landed and jumped backwards.

On Saturday night, Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Ricky Rubio hit Nowitzki in the face with an elbow. It appeared accidental but created a gash on Nowitzki’s nose and was bleeding. Nowitzki used the injury to take a shot at the NBA over their flopping warnings.

“I don’t think it’s broke, since it wasn’t a foul,” he said with a big grin, according to Eddie Sefko of the Dallas Morning News. “I might get another flopping call from my boy Rod Thorn on Monday.”

“It’s actually a miracle, my nose is so big, I don’t hit it more often,” he said. “I try to dodge it every night. It’s a miracle I don’t hit it.”

Dirk even joked that he was surprised it doesn’t happen more often.

“It’s actually a miracle, my nose is so big, I don’t hit it more often,” he said. “I try to dodge it every night. It’s a miracle I don’t hit it.”
