Ilya Bryzgalov, goaltender of the Edmonton Oilers, left Sunday’s game against the Dallas Stars following a collision.
Bryzgalov seemed to have collided with Dallas’ left winger Ryan Garbutt during the second period of the contest. From the Associated Press, found on ESPN,
Bryzgalov made the save with 3:41 left in the second period on Sunday but was then replaced by Devan Dubnyk because of an undisclosed injury.
Bryzgalov stopped a forehand shot by Garbutt, but as the puck slid away to the left, Bryzgalov fell face forward onto the ice next to the net and appeared to hold his head.
After a visit from a trainer, he was helped off the ice.
This is Ilya’s fourth game of the season that he’s been in the crease for, which is a little disappointing for Oilers fans, seeing as this injury could be a big one. Prior to leaving the ice, Bryzgalov made 28 saves and only let one goal by him.
