Arkansas State accepts bid to GoDaddy Bowl

For the  third consecutive season, the Arkansas State Red Wolves have accepted a bid to the GoDaddy Bowl.

The game will played on January 5 and will pit the Red Wolves in a game against a team from the MAC. Two years ago, the Red Wolves were defeated by the Northern Illinois Huskies in the game. The Huskies won’t be playing in the game this year because they seem to be headed to their second straight BCS bowl game.

Last year, the Red Wolves defeated the then 25th-ranked Kent State Golden Flashes 17-13 in the game.

The Red Wolves concluded their regular season Saturday with a 34-31 loss on the road to the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers.  The Tigers finished the year with a 7-5 record and went 5-2 in the Sun Belt Conference. Two of their losses came to the two teams playing in Saturday’s SEC title game. The Red Wolves were defeated by the third-ranked Auburn Tigers 38-9 on September 7 and fell to the fifth-ranked Missouri Tigers 41-19 on September 28.
