Boise State's Chris Peterson withdraws from USC coaching search

News surfaced on Monday morning that Washington Huskies head coach Steve Sarkisian had interviewed for the USC Trojans head coaching vacancy, while another potential candidate has pulled his name out of the mix.

It was believed that Boise State Broncos head coach Chris Peterson and the Trojans had mutual interest, but now it is being reported that Petersen has removed himself from the discussion and has withdrawn from the coaching search.

Joe Schad of ESPN passed along the news.

This may be the least surprising news ever, but it goes down as another head coach that the Trojans had interest in becoming unavailable.

With Petersen no longer in the mix and Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin signing an extension to stay in College Station, the Trojans may need to turn to plans C and D in order to find a capable head coach that they have interest in.

Who do you think will eventually be named the USC head coach? Sound off in the comments section below with your thoughts.
