David Murphy wishes he could’ve ended career with Texas Rangers

Former Texas Rangers left fielder David Murphy has signed with the Cleveland Indians and is moving on with his career. During an interview he stated that he wish he could’ve ended his career in Texas.
“It’s a bitter sweet moment. It would have been nice to be a Texas Ranger for the rest of my career,” Murphy said on KRLD-FM 105.3, via the Dallas Morning News. “It’s weird coming on here. I’m still getting used to it when you say former Texas Ranger David Murphy. All that being said, I’m really excited about new adventure and new opportunity for my family and for me in Cleveland. I’m really excited about the opportunity there and opportunity for the team.”
Murphy also showed appreciation to the fans for supporting him.
“From the second that I stepped foot on the field in Arlington, I felt like I had so much support from the very beginning. I’m not an All-Star or a Josh Hamilton or a Nelson Cruz or an Ian Kinsler, and I feel like my support has been incredible. I don’t know if it’s just because I’m a Texas-born guy, and I got support from other Texans and other Baylor Bears, but I really appreciate people coming out and supporting the Rangers and the support that was shown for me on a daily basis for the last six years.”
