Exciting times around the corner for golfing world

Rory Mcllroy birdied the final hole of the Emirates Australian Open this past weekend to win by one stroke over world No. 2 Adam Scott.  What does Mcllroy’s win mean for the golfing world? Exciting times are ahead!

Every player in the top 10 of the World Golf Rankings is playing incredible golf heading into 2014.  Here is a quick rundown of their accomplishments over the past year.

1. Tiger Woods – Won five PGA Tour events, and Player of the Year honors.

2. Adam Scott – Won the Masters, and nearly missed winning the Australian Triple Crown.

3. Henrik Stenson – Won the PGA Tour FedEx Cup Playoffs, and the European Tour Race to Dubai.

4. Phil Mickelson – Won the British Open to claim his fifth major championship.

5. Justin Rose – Won the U.S. Open.

6. Rory Mcllroy – Won the Australian Open (big confidence booster).

7. Matt Kuchar – Won the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship, and the Memorial Tournament.

8. Steve Stricker – Is there a more consistent player in golf? Four second place finishes in 13 events.

9. Brandt Snedeker –  Won the At&T at Pebble Beach, and the RBC Canadian Open.

10. Jason Day – Made 21 of 21 cuts, and won the ISPS Handa World Cup (first win since 2010).


Wow! That’s a lot of rounds in the 60s eh?  I know I’ll be watching these guys for some inspiration on the links in 2014.
